V. Urazova Olympic Games Tokyo 2020

As a result of COVID-19, Urazova sat out the whole 2020 season.

Urazova competed in the 2021 Russian Championships for the first time as a senior in March. She and her team from the Southern Federal District placed second. She also finished in second place in the all-around, third on the floor, eighth on the balance beam, and first in the country on the uneven bars.

They sent her to Basel, Switzerland, for the European Championships. Although she qualified third in the all-around, she was eliminated from the competition due to a two-percentage point deficit. She competed in the finals of the uneven bars event and placed second overall. 3

In June, she competed at the Russian Cup and won gold on the uneven bars and the floor exercise, silver in the all-around, and sixth on the balance beam. The Russian Olympic Committee selected her for the team (ROC).

Urazova began her competition in the second subdivision on the floor exercise. She advanced to the all-around and balance beam finals and helped ROC get to the team final. The ROC were victorious over the USA despite suffering several falls on the balance beam. In the all-around, Urazova placed fourth, missing out on a medal, but in the beam final, she placed eighth due to not completing an acrobatic series.

Post-Olympics

Following this, in October, Urazova competed at the World Championships in Kitakyushu, Japan, where she placed fourth in the all-around and on floor exercise, and seventh on uneven bars.

2022

As early as March, Urazova competed at the World Cup in Doha, where she won gold on the balance beam and came in fourth on the floor exercise. Her only option was to compete as a neutral athlete because of the recent Russian invasion of Ukraine.

The International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) made the announcement during the tournament that Russian and Belarusian gymnasts would no longer be allowed to compete in FIG-sanctioned events after the Doha World Cup.

Urazova kept training in the hopes that the FIG would eventually reverse their suspension. At the Russian Championships in April, she came in second on the balance beam, third in the all-around and eighth on the uneven bars, and fourth in the team competition.

She competed in the Russian Cup in July and won silver in the all-around, while also placing fourth on vault and uneven bars and sixth on balancing beam.
