The Beast “OLED” For 2024
If you buy a larger TV, like one of the best 65-inch TVs or best 75-inch TVs, you’ll notice a greater contrast between light and dark, similar to the laser projection in movie theatres, on an OLED TV, which is among the best TVs on the market.
OLED technology can be found in high-end televisions from major manufacturers like LG and Sony. Even Samsung, which had previously resisted producing OLED televisions, began doing so earlier this year.

When it comes to OLED televisions, the LG C2 OLED is the finest option for the vast majority of consumers. Even though the 2021 LG C1 OLED is still a fantastic television, and the 2022 LG G2 and 2023 LG Z2 provide superior viewing experiences in comparison to the C2, we are confident in saying that the C2 provides the best performance for the money and will remain the television to beat until the 2023 model becomes available.
The new Alpha a9 Gen 5 CPU is one among the many changes that make this model superior than its forerunner in terms of object enhancement and dynamic tone mapping. The TV also provides “virtual surround sound,” which consists of an upscaling from stereo to 7.1.2 channels of sound.
The audio performance is good for a flatscreen TV, and there are enough sound settings that you should be able to find an audio profile that meets your needs even if you aren’t convinced by the claims of virtual surround sound, which we weren’t.
Also, the C2 OLED inherits four HDMI 2.1 connections from the C1 OLED, making it compatible with both the PS5 and Xbox One families of consoles. Unfortunately, the LG C2 has certain flaws. Our experiments revealed that, unlike the latest QD-OLED models, colour saturation decreases slightly while looking off-center from the screen.
Important formats like IMAX Improved and HDR10+ are not supported by LG. There are already OLED Televisions on the market with higher resolutions, such as the LG Z2 OLED with 8K resolution and the new improved LG G2 OLED with slightly higher peak brightness, but we believe this to be the greatest TV for the money.

The A2 series of LG Televisions is the company’s entry-level OLED lineup, and while they may lack some of the bells and whistles of their more expensive siblings, they still provide excellent value for the money.
The display here isn’t as bright as the ones in more costly LG Televisions, but it’s still quite excellent and very clear, and LG’s OLED panels are fantastic things with superb colour and contrast. The webOS smart TV platform used by LG is among the best available.
Features such as dynamic tone mapping and 5.1.2-channel sound upmixing are made possible by the LG 7 Gen 5 AI Processor, which debuted in the company’s 2021 models and is now standard equipment in the A2 series.
The A2 line supports the HDR10, HLG, and Dolby Vision high dynamic range codecs, as well as Dolby Vision IQ and HGiG. (HDR Gaming Interest Group). Its Filmmaker mode provides true-to-source colour and motion settings and disables any post-production processing that would alter the image from the way the filmmaker envisioned it.
Compared to other LG OLED TVs and the greatest 4K TVs on the market, the A2 series falls short in terms of overall features. Specifically, the company’s B2 series TVs differ in that they feature upgraded gaming features such as HDMI 2.1 ports, a 120Hz display, VRR (Variable Refresh Rate), and FreeSync. This is an excellent and reasonably priced TV, provided you don’t require the gaming functions.

The Sony A95K is an outstanding OLED television. It is an expert in the Quantum Dot OLED technology, which allows it to be both bright and pure in colour while yet retaining OLED’s black level prowess and unrivalled light control.
Throughout our testing, we were blown away by the quality of the photos produced by Sony’s superb Cognitive XR processing engine. The Sony A95K produces some of the most stunningly brilliant pictures we’ve ever seen on a consumer television.
When we first took the Sony A95K out of the box, we were struck by how impressive it looked—not just because of the quality of the photos it took. It’s one-of-a-kind design has a full-width metal plate stand that can be placed either behind or in front of the TV, depending on your aesthetic preferences.
You can tell this is a high-end television by its solid construction. The Sony A95K has excellent sound quality, and while we still advocate using a separate soundbar with any new TV, we were blown away by how good it was.
This is due to the fact that it follows in the footsteps of prior Sony OLED Televisions that utilised Acoustic Surface technology, transforming the screen into a de facto set of speakers. The price is really high, but that is to be expected for such a high-end experience.

The 65-inch model costs $3,999, £3,499, or AU$5,995. Compared to other excellent OLED Televisions on this list, such as the LG C2 OLED and the Samsung 65S95B, this one is quite a bit more expensive. This OLED TV has an excellent picture and deserves to be in our top OLED TV guide, but only the really wealthy should consider purchasing it.
