In the quarterfinals of the 2019 AIBA World Boxing Championships, Jalolov scored a knockout victory over the American youngster. The Uzbek avoided getting hit himself and instead blocked single punches from the American.

3Although Jalolov took a hook midway through the first round, he still managed to land at least ten blows in the first three minutes. The Uzbek boxer started off the second round strong with a solid jab and controlled the pace of the fight. Counting the American boxer in the second round and warning Torrez gave Jalolov a huge advantage.

Torrez made it through the fight’s tense middle, but he was no match for the Uzbek superstar. Jalolov won the gold medal in the Olympics in Tokyo thanks to effective use of his longer hands in the fight against his fellow southpaws..
